NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Outdoor burning is temporarily banned in Hamilton County commissioners and fire chiefs there announced Thursday, citing the unusually dry conditions.
The ban restricts burning in all cities, towns and townships within the county. It prohibits any open burning, comfort fires, agricultural burning or similar legal fires until conditions improve.
Hoosiers who choose to ignore the ban could face fines up to $500.
The burn ban is in effect until the county’s Fire Chiefs lift the ban.
