WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) - Lightning strikes kept firefighters busy the past 24 hours.

An early Thursday morning apartment fire left 28 people out of their homes at 17350 Bigleaf Maple Boulevard in the Maple Knoll apartment community in Westfield.

Due to an alarm problem in another building the night before, staff were already onsite. Authorities say everyone got out OK.

Firefighters in Westifield say they responded to a total six possible lightening strikes.

Indianapolis firefighters were also busy. Lightning struck a garage on the south side. Two people were home at the time, but no one was injured.
