HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Hamilton County will not test tornado sirens on Friday.

Officials say the March 1 siren test will not happen because of colder temperatures and the amount of recent moisture.

Hamilton County policy states tornado siren testing normally resumes on the first Friday in March, however, recent moisture levels and freezing temperatures have delayed testing, which will prevent possible damage, according to a release.

Tornado siren testing should resume next week.

Officials say now is a great time to review preparedness plans as severe weather months approach.
