CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - Carmel Police Department is asking the public for information about a man accused of stealing a handheld metal detector from Carmel City Court.
Police officials say the man — who was on wrist-height crutches and had a shoe riser on his left foot — took the metal detector at around 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Surveillance video shows the man approach a ticket window, talk to an attendant and was handed a piece of paper. He then walks over, grabs the handheld metal detector and stuffs it underneath his shirt, police say.
The video goes on to show the suspect leaving and getting into a passenger seat in a light blue, fourt-door Oldsmobile. Then, a woman leaves the building and drives him away in the vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Carmel Police at 317-571-2532.
