Power outage knocks out Hamilton County traffic lights

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A blown transformer knocked out electricity in parts of Hamilton County on Thursday, complicating traffic in some areas.

Duke Energy reported around 4,000 customers in Hamilton County were without power at 6:15 a.m. For the current outage map, click here . Customers in Noblesville and Fishers were affected, but all power was restored by 7 a.m. -- far earlier than the electric company had projected.

The transformer that blew was at 146th Street and Cumberland Road. A number of intersections had traffic lights out our flashing red in all directions. Officers were directing traffic at 146th Street and Allisonville Road while the lights were out.
