CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - North side drivers will have a new road closure to navigate around for the next three months.
Indiana Department of Transportation crews have shut down the ramp from southbound U.S. 31 to southbound Keystone Parkway. The closure began Monday and officials say it’ll be closed for up to 90 days.
The closure is part of a series of traffic pattern changes in conjunction with the construction of a bridge on Keystone Parkway. The bridge will go over the Hagan-Burke Trail and Cool Creek. During the construction period, the trail, which connects with the Monon Trail, will be closed as needed. Officials say it will remain open on weekends during daylight hours.
From Wednesday to Friday this week, traffic could be stopped overnight and lane restrictions will be in place on U.S. 31 near 146th Street to demolish the bridge that’s being replaced. INDOT officials say on Thursday, southbound U.S. 31 traffic will be shifted onto northbound lanes near Keystone Parkway.
