Charges dropped against 4th Carmel player

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - A Hamilton County judge granted a prosecutor's motion seeking to dismiss charges against Brandon Hoge, one of the four ex-Carmel basketball players charged in connection with the locker room assaults.

Hoge's attorney, Jim Crum issued a statement Wednesday afternoon. It states, "We were aware that Mr. Hoge was not in the class where the alleged actions occurred. He was in a ceramics class and nowhere near the locker rooms. We were confident all along in our case and were surprised that he was charged in relation to any events alleged to have taken place in the locker room. Though we are pleased with this development, we are needless to say dismayed that my client was falsely implicated in this matter to begin with."

Meanwhile, the victim’s attorney says it was not a false implication.

“According to my client, Hoge was one of the people that participated in that activity…that's (my victim’s ) testimony,” Attorney Robert Turner said. “We are not talking about one particular event at one particular time. This was a series of events over time.”

Turner alleges that his client was sexually attacked in the Carmel High School locker room more than once over a several weeks span, despite the fact that Hoge's attorney says his client was not in the class where the alleged actions occurred.

Hoge still faces a Battery charge in connection with an incident aboard a team bus in Hendricks County.

Robert Kitzinger, Scott Laskowski and Oscar Falodun all pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the locker room incident. None of them will face any jail time.
