CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - A woman was startled by an intruder in her bedroom Thursday after police say he broke into her Carmel home.
Police say the intruder broke into the home in the 1100 block of Senie Lane in the Guilford Park Subdivision.
Once inside, the man ran through the home.
“It sounded like someone was running across the hallway,” said the victim who did not want to be identified.
The suspect then opened a bedroom door where he and the victim came face to face.
“I yelled get out of my house I’m calling the police,” said the victim. “ Lucky for me he turned and ran.”
Four hours later that same man was spotted on 9900 block of Hodges Drive. This time no one was home and police say the man took some undisclosed items.
In both cases the homes were on the corner of a subdivision and along a busy street. Police have a vague description of the suspect. He is described as a black man, 5’8 with a slender build, wearing a do-rag.
Witnesses say the man drove a dark gray full size truck with 4x4 on the tailgate with Texas plates.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the police.
