NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Three people were injured in a crash that blocked traffic on Ind. 19 in Noblesville for hours Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews had to free two from their vehicles after the crash, which happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Cicero Road (Ind. 19), near the south entrance to Forest Park. The highway was closed through at least 12:30 p.m. between Logan Street and Field Drive as investigators collected information.
Scott Carey, 42, Noblesville, was northbound on Cicero Road in a utility truck, and Chelsey Kennett, 22, Anderson was driving a Saturn south when the two collided head-on, police Noblesville Police Department said.
Kennett and a passenger, Joshua McFarland, 22, Anderson, were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Carey was treated at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. All were awake and alert at the scene, NPD Lt. Bruce Barnes said.
In the traffic tie-up caused by the road closures, a school bus got stuck in the mud while trying to turn around, Barnes said. It had to be towed out of the mud, but it was not involved in the crash.
