INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A group of young musicians from Carmel High School are back on track for the trip of a lifetime after being delayed.
The group is headed to China to perform a series of concerts. They were scheduled to leave at 8:45 a.m. Thursday – a day later than originally planned.
24-Hour News 8 crews caught up with the group Wednesday in the mostly empty Indianapolis International Airport. A hundred flights were canceled due to weather , but the group’s had already been canceled because their pilot had called in sick.
As they waited and hoped for another flight, some of them got out their instruments and played in the terminal. At one point, the group feared they would miss four days of their trip. But they were able to get a flight out Thursday instead.
