INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One person was hospitalized after an apartment fire Friday night.
It happened at the College Courts of Nora near 91st Street and College Avenue.
Indianapolis Fire Department spokeswoman Rita Burris said the fire started in a second floor unit and crews were able to put it out in about 20 minutes.
When firefighters arrived, they found one person waiting for them outside who was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
Five others were evacuated from the eight-unit building.
No one else was hurt.
Damage is estimated at $50,000. It was mostly contained to one unit, although Burris said another unit might have sustained water damage.
Investigators are looking into the cause.
