INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - 16 residents of the Dove Recovery House for Women were displaced after a fire broke out Saturday night.

The Indianapolis Fire Department responded to the building fire on Highland Avenue shortly after 8 p.m.

When crews arrived they found a small fire in the basement of the building. All residents were out of the house and safe.

The fire was quickly extinguished. One firefighter suffered slight smoke inhalation injury and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital to be treated.

Victims Assistance was called to assist the 16 residents with lodging for the night.

Damages are estimated at $10,000.
