INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police have identified the two men who were killed in an early morning shooting following a rap concert on the city's northwest side.
Just after 2:40 AM Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to a shooting at West 38th Street and North Georgetown Road. There were multiple 911 calls reporting a person inside a vehicle at that location had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found a green Ford with two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Medics arrived and pronounced 21-year-old Andre Stennett-Harrod of Indianapolis dead.
A second victim, 24-year old LaVonne Harrod, Stennett-Harrod's brother was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition. He later died at the hospital. .
The gunfire erupted just as fans were leaving a rap concert at nearby "Cloud 9" Club. Investigators believe the victims may have been leaving the nightclub just prior to the shooting.
Deanna Jones, a witness on the scene who had just left Cloud 9 said, "we were at the stop light. I turned left... before you know it you heard five or six gun shots behind me."
There was a large police presence in the area prior to the shooting because of concerns over crowd control related to the concert.
Detectives are still investigating and are looking for suspects.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
