INDIANAPOLIS, IN.(WISH) - Two men have died as the result of extreme heat exposure here in Indianapolis.
The Marion County Coroner's office says 92 year old Anthony Bruton was found in his home in the 12-hundred block of north Holmes Ave.
He was last seen alive on Friday morning inside his home.
Officials say that his home registered 99 degrees on Saturday and due to the high temperature, the preliminary findings suggest that the extreme heat exposure was a contributing factor in his death.
The Marion County Coroner also believes 54 year old Randall Yates died of extreme heat exposure.
He was last seen alive walking about one hour prior to his death.
Yates was found outside his residence at 2444 Camwood Drive just before 5 pm on Saturday.
At the time of the investigation, the outside temperature registered 101 degrees.
Authorities believe that exposure to the extreme heat was a contributing factor in his death.
The Marion County Coroner, Dr. Frank Lloyd, Junior, is encouraging people to take precautions against the heat by staying hydrated, limiting extraneous activity and staying inside in air conditioning as much as possible.
