2012 Indy Home Show opened for heroes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The 2012 Indianapolis Home Show kicked off Friday in a unique way. The show runs through Sunday, Feb. 3 but was for the heroes on Friday.
Military, police, and firefighters got into the show for free.
Mayor Ballard is a veteran, and was there when officials donated $500 to The Homes for Wounded Warriors Program.
The group builds new, mortgage-free homes that are specifically adapted to the needs of service members who've been injured during service.
“We have a duty as Americans to take care of our wounded,” said Captain Markus Trouerbach with the Homes for Wounded Warriors Program. “You don't have to support the war on terrorism. But you do have to support our troops. There's no politics involved when it comes to taking care of a fellow American.”
Captain Trouerbach says their latest wounded veteran is a double-amputee, whose wife has Multiple Sclerosis and is wheelchair bound. Their only child has autism.
