INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A water main break at 34th Street and Lafayette Road blocked off streets in the area for most of Friday morning. Around 1 p.m., 34th Street was opened.

According to dispatch, water is covering the roads and due to the cold temperature, the roads will be covered in ice. Citizen Water crews are on the scene repairing the break although she is unsure how long they will need to make the repair.

Dispatch is unsure if this is the same water main break that occurred on Wednesday morning.

There is also a water main break at East 21st Street and North Ritter Avenue. Ritter Avenue is expected to reopen around 3 p.m.

Sarah Holsapple with Citizens Water says both water main breaks were weather-related.
