500 festival running series

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Athletes hit the pavement Saturday morning for the first of three official training sessions of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.

The Training Series which is presented by OrthoIndy, is designed to allow participants the opportunity to gauge their progression in preparation for the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon on Saturday, May 5th, 2012.

Participants will run on part of the actual Mini-Marathon course and practice using water stations.

The three training events gradually increase in distance to coincide with a typical training program's schedule.

In addition to the 5K, additional events include the 10K: March 3 and the 15K: April 7.

The 2012 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is sold out.
