INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi will decide this week
whether to file public intoxication charges against a former state
representative and candidate for Lieutenant Governor.
Metro police say they found Dennie Oxley II, and a 21-year
old woman drunk at a gas station early Friday.
Officers say Oxley claimed inmmunity because he was a lawmaker, and the general assembly is in session.
Investigators later discovered that Oxley is no longer a lawmaker but his father Dennie Oxley Sr., is a lawmaker.
A special prosecutor in Bloomington says a separate drunk
driving investigation involving Oxley is on hold. The
prosecutor says he had hoped to resolve the charge at a hearing
this week.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
