INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The conservative political action group FreedomWorks is leading the charge in what they are calling a final 72-hour get out the vote rally to elect Richard Mourdock, and retire Senator Richard Lugar.
Indiana Tea Partiers and conservatives rallied at Veterans War memorial in support of their candidate Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock.
“I am hoping he will deliver on his conservative values,” said Michael Pynaert.
Senator Lugar’s 36 year political career seems to be hanging in the balance as recent polls show Murdock taking a commanding 10 point lead.
Murdock has carried the support of Indiana conservative voters, the NRA and National Right to life who had a major presence at the rally.
Murdock answered questions from supporters about his relationship with outspoken Lugar supporter Governor Mitch Daniels.
“The governor is a friend he said the tie breaker he told me months and months ago the time breaker in his decision would be his long standing relationship with senator Lugar and that’s fine,” commented Mourdock.
The Tea Party believes a Mourdock win will challenge critics who say the party is dead.
