INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The owner of a trophy shop on the city's south side is getting a better look at damage Friday morning.

Metro police said 24-year-old Rachel Deutsch died when her car slammed into the building and then hit a light pole.

Police said Deutsch was weaving near Madison and Southern avenues on the south side at around 11 p.m.

Officers say Deutsch hit a curb, went airborne, hit the side of the "Flying W" trophy shop and then ran into a light pole.

“First thing that I saw was the car and the person that was driving. It was pretty bad. The parking lot is just full of rubble. I've never seen my parking lot that bad. Even when we were putting in a new driveway,” said business owner Chuck Guedel.

Officers said Deutsch was not wearing a seat-belt and was thrown from the car.

Two nurses who saw the accident helped the woman until an ambulance arrived.

Medics took her to Wishard hospital where she died from her injuries.
