INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two companies that offered to list people’s homes as rentals for the Super Bowl are now targets of a lawsuit filed by Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.

Zoeller’s office is suing Super Week Lodging and Major Event Rentalz, both based out of Arizona. Zoeller said both companies collected payments from customers but never offered a refund when their homes weren’t rented. Super Week Lodging is accused of not refunding payments totaling $19,630 while Major Event Rentalz is accused of doing the same for a total of $8,900.

“Our office will aggressively pursue these companies and hopefully prevent them from preying on innocent homeowners next year,” Zoeller said in a news release.

The lawsuit seeks refunds for customers, civil penalties and attorney fees.

Major Event Rentalz has a similar name to another company that offered Super Bowl home rental listings . The other, Major Event Rental , is not a target of the lawsuit.
