Airport carves up old terminal site

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis International Airport officials are splitting up its old passenger terminal and other land into separate parcels in hopes of finding companies interested in redeveloping the site.

The airport authority's latest property listing shows four parcels being marketed, including 167 acres that include the old terminal and 121 acres made up of its former long-term parking lots. The authority has been looking for tenants there since opening the airport's new $1.1 billion passenger terminal in 2008.

Airport authority property director Eric Anderson tells the Indianapolis Business Journal that it doesn't want potential tenants to think the property is too large and that it could always put parcels together if needed.

The airport's land use plan contemplates aviation-related, advanced manufacturing and logistics operations at the old terminal.
