INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - This morning the public has the chance to get their hands on everything from tools and furniture to flat-screen TVs, and even a fire truck.
These are some of the items up for auction today at the Indianapolis International Airport.
Starting at nine this morning, the airport began a public auction to unload items and equipment that are no longer used.
Lost-and-found items will also be up for grabs.
A lot of those items are things that are left at the airport and then never claimed, so they sit in lost and found.
There are an estimated seven-million travelers that pass through the Indianapolis airport each year.
They have 135 daily nonstop flights to 34 destinations. So people leaving items throughout the year can really add up.
The public auction of Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) surplus items began at 9 a.m. at the IAA's Maintenance and Operations Building, located at 2000 S. Banner Ave.
Specific items include: Shuttle busses Fire rescue truck Passenger vans Snowplow chassis with snow broom Pressure washers Dump trucks with plow hookups Various lifts (aerial, fork, and scissor) Air compressor Fire extinguishers X-Ray machine Laptops, PCs, flat-screen monitors, and televisions Miscellaneous office equipment including file cabinets and chairs Airport lost-and-found items including jewelry and electronics.
AAA Auction Service, Inc., of New Haven, Indiana, is conducting the auction.
Participants need not be present to bid, as live online bidding will be available at www.aaaauctionservice.com.
