INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A crew from the television show “America’s Most Wanted” was in Indianapolis Monday, trying to shed new light on a 24 year-old murder case.

Eight-year-old April Tinsley from Fort Wayne was murdered in 1988 after leaving a friend’s house. Her body was later located in a Dekalb County ditch. Investigators determined that someone raped and suffocated Tinsley.

Fort Wayne Police reveal never-before-seen evidence found with Tinsley’s body during the episode that airs Friday at 9pm on Lifetime.

“America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh says that this story is personal to him.

“I know that firsthand, that nightmare. It took 27 years to solve my six-year-old son Adam’s murder,” says Walsh.

Next week, the show will feature several unsolved cases from the Indianapolis area.
