Anderson Cooper is coming to central Indiana in more ways than one. The CNN anchor and Sixty Minutes contributor will be the Grand Marshal of the 2011 IPL 500 Festival Parade. He also has a new syndicated television talk show debuting in the fall.

“Anderson Cooper has become a face of American news through his reporting of major worldwide events,” said Kirk Hendrix, President and CEO of the 500 Festival. “We are pleased and honored to have him participate as Grand Marshal of the IPL 500 Festival Parade during this historic 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500.”

The IPL 500 Festival Parade is Saturday, May 28, 2011 at noon in downtown Indianapolis. It will air on WISH-TV at 8pm that night.

Cooper's new show, Anderson, will air locally weekdays at 5pm on My-INDY-TV, channel 23, starting this fall.
