LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) - A day after 15 Lawrence Central High School students were sent to the hospital , one student was treated at a hospital for exposure to pepper spray.

Thursday around noon, someone was spraying pepper spray in the school’s science wing, a school spokesperson told 24-Hour News 8. Eight students complained about it and were treated by the school nurse.  One student needed .

Roughly 300 students were escorted from the science wing into the gymnasium during the incident. The district has not identified who sprayed the pepper spray Thursday.

The news comes after a massive police presence Wednesday when pepper spray was released and multiple students required treatment.

District spokesperson Mary Louise Bewley added two students were arrested in Wednesday's pepper spray attack. Five other students were suspended pending an investigation.

Bewley said the district will likely expel the seven students.

Bewley said Thursday afternoon that they have not received any other threats. She told 24-Hour News 8 reporter Julian Grace that the district is now discussing how staff will check to see if students are bringing pepper spray into the school.

UPDATE (1/31/2013 4:10 p.m.) - An emergency school board meeting has been called to address the recent security problems at the school.

Concetta Raimondi, Superintendent of Lawrence Township Schools, released a statement through the township website .

Raimondi said Thursday's incident was relatively minor and the school is taking steps to stop similar actions.

She stated, "We take the responsibility of providing a safe and secure environment for our children seriously and have already taken measures that have resulted in the arrest of those involved yesterday."

Raimondi said the students involved in Wednesday's pepper spray incident would be prosecuted and recommended for expulsion.

UPDATE (1/31/2013 6:15 p.m.) - "We are constantly looking for ways to  improve. We will evaluate. We will. I'm sure there are things when we talk today. We will look to improve," Bewley said.
