Apartment fire hurts 1, damages 5 units

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - One man was hurt and others were forced out of their homes after an apartment building caught fire in Speedway.

It happened overnight into Thursday morning at Villa Capri Apartments near 25th Street and Crawfordsville Road.

Firefighters say the blaze began in a unit on the second floor. The man who lives there suffered minor burns and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Five apartments were damaged and the American Red Cross was helping people who were displaced.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
