INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest in the shooting that occurred in the 11400 block of Silver Drift Way on Friday.
Detectives arrested 20-year-old Nicholis Hood of Indianapolis for the murder of Andre Johnson, according to an IMPD release.
Officers responded to the scene of a person who had possibly been shot Friday at 6:21 p.m. Upon arrival officers found a black male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim’s child was also inside the vehicle when the suspect fired at least five shots striking the victim an unknown number of times.
He was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital where he died.
The victim’s child is unharmed and safely with relatives, according to a release.
