INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A survivor of a crash between an Indianapolis police officer and motorcyclists held a vigil for his friends Friday afternoon.

Eric Wells was killed in the crash, which marks it’s two year anniversary on Monday. Officer David Bisard was behind the wheel of a patrol car when he struck the motorcyclists. His case is still winding through the court system.

On his lunch hour Friday, George Burt stood along East 56th Street, just west of Interstate 465, holding a sign with his friends’ names.

In addition to Wells’ death, two others were seriously injured in the accident. Burt not only got the attention of drivers passing by, but he also had a message for Bisard.

“Why, if you weren’t drunk, why were you in such a hurry to get where you were going?. Any other officer would have slowed down,” Burt said.
