INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A blood drive on Friday honored fallen IMPD officer David Moore.
The Marion County Prosecutors office hosted the blood drive, which was running until 3:30 p.m. at the City Market, in the West Wing.
Officer Moore was gunned down during a traffic stop one year ago this week. At that time, the Marion County Prosecutor's office hosted a blood drive in his honor — collecting 133 units of blood.
“What a wonderful city this is. These people have taken us in their arms and have helped us through this new journey that we are on and have made everything possible,” said Moore's father, Spencer. “It’s a very difficult time for us. These people have made it easier.”
Spencer Moore added that he is happy to be able to help other people during their time of need, just as the community did for him after he lost his son.
