INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Parents aren't supposed to outlive their children. But that's the unfortunate reality for Julie Kvinge.
Her son, Walton Ward Disappeared on Friday, October 12th. A sign with the message RIP Walton "Matt" Ward greets visitors at Peppers in BroadRipple.
That night, Kvinge dropped her son off at the bar to meet a woman he said he met through an online dating service. Police say they don't suspect foul play in the 22-year-old's death.
His body was pulled from the White River Tuesday after construction workers spotted it.
Detectives haven't released the cause of death. They are still waiting for the outcome of toxicology exam.
Meanwhile, the owner of Peppers in Broad Ripple said surveillance video shows Ward was alone that night. He ordered a 32 oz pitcher of beer and spent most of his time texting someone.
Kvinge says her son used that same phone to call 911 the night he was last seen. The call lasted one second.
No one knows if it was a mistake or a call for help. And that's something we may never know.
