INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Saturday marks the second anniversary since the death of IMPD officer David Spencer Moore.

Friday, the Marion County prosecutor's Office hosted a blood drive in memory of Moore.

This year marked the third year for the blood drive at the Indianapolis City Market. The blood drive falls on the week of the anniversary of Officer Moore's death.

Since his death, Moore's parents have made sure his name lives on by helping others in need.

"It's just the continuing of the responsibility we feel for David and continuing that legacy. We were very proud of him as a son, the city was very proud of him as a police officer and we want to continue that type of belief and thought of him and because he did really love this city," Spencer Moore, David Moore's father said.

Moore passed away in 2011 after being shot by Thomas hardy, a man suspected of driving a stolen vehicle. He was 29-years-old.
