INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One dollar at a garage sale bought an Indianapolis man some time with the bomb squad over the weekend.

The man was at a garage sale when he purchased a live mortar round for $1. But when the man got home, he began to have concerns about whether the mortar was functioning, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Saturday afternoon, the man called police and the bomb squad responded to his home in the 4600 block of Kessler Boulevard.

Authorities took the mortar to be safely disposed.

The man doesn’t face any charges in connection to the discovery, and no one was injured.
