INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An abandoned building on the 1700 block of Gent Avenue collapsed Friday night.

The Indianapolis Fire Department was called to the building just after 7:30 p.m. The City’s Assessor’s website states the 2012 assessed property value as $226,200, IFD says.

The building is a total loss.

The roof and back wall collapsed into the alley during the Friday storm that brought hail, rain and high winds.

Neighbors say the building has been vacant for at least a decade.

Unsafe Buildings has been called to speed up demolition orders.

There were no reported injuries.
