Burial set for teen accidentally shot

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A teen accidentally shot and killed in Indianapolis last week will buried in his native Canada next weekend, CBC News reports.

Nicholas “Nick” King, 14, a freshman at Franklin Central High School, was visiting a friend’s home Tuesday when he was shot in the neck. Two teens at the house have been charged in connection with the shooting, which police said was apparently an accident. The teens said they were trying to scare King with a rifle when the shooting happened.

CBC News reported King was born in Ontario, Canada, and moved to the U.S. as a child.

A crowd gathered Saturday in Beech Grove Park to remember the slain teen.

Kevin Edwards, 18, has been preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness, and his 15-year-old stepbrother has been preliminarily charged with reckless homicide.
