Butler Men's Basketball tickets get a makeover

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Moving to the Atlantic 10 will not be the only change to Butler Men’s Basketball this coming season.

This year’s season tickets will be a little different than past years. These tickets will feature drawings by kindergarteners and first graders from the IPS/ Butler University Laboratory School. The school is a collaboration between IPS and Butler that opened in fall 2011.

Each home game season ticket for the 2012-2013 season will showcase a child’s view of Hinkle Fieldhouse, Bulldog logo, mascot Blue II, players dunking and more.

Matt Harris, manager of athletic tickets and fan development, is excited for the new tickets. “I think our fans are going to love it.”

Harris, whose son attends the Lab School, approached the principal about the idea. After, a group of kindergarteners and first-graders took a field trip to Butler’s campus to decide what they wanted to draw.

Butler Athletics has been featuring specially designed season tickets for a few years. Last year’s tickets featured pictures from every NCAA tournament win in Butler history. In the 2009-2010 season, the tickets showcased pictures from a coloring contest for children 12-years old and younger.

But Harris says this year is a little different. “This is a little different than the time we did drawings before because not only are the kids younger, but there's a Butler connection, which I think is really cool.”

Season tickets are on sale now through butlersports.com or by calling the ticket office at (317) 940-3647.
