INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - IMPD officials say one car ended up upside down after a police chase Tuesday night.
Officers say the chase started on I-465 southbound near 56th Street. around 8:40 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle during a routine traffic stop, but the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Officials say the car reached speeds of at lease 100 mph.
The chase ended near 46th and Shadeland, when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into two other cars and and IMPD squad car. Officials say a gun flew out of the car while it was flipping.
The suspect jumped out of the vehicle and and ran to a church parking lot, where he was apprehended by police.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released. He was taken to Wishard hospital.
According to police, the suspect may be wanted to attempted murder or other charges.
