INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A car slammed into a northeast side home around 12 a.m. Wednesday, just missing two teenagers.

Metro Police said Emily Salas, Daniel James Buell, and Daniel Dorfmeyer were traveling along 62nd Street when they crashed into the home in the 3500 block of East 62nd Street.

Salas told medics she swerved over the road and into the home because a small animal ran into the road. She says she overcorrected going across the road and then into the home.

The car entered the home just underneath the bedroom where two teens, ages 15 and 12, were asleep in their bed. The girls were unharmed.

Salas and Buell were taken to a nearby hospital with slight injuries. Police say Salas, 21, had a blood alcohol content of .12. She has since been taken to the Marion County Jail.

24-Hour News 8 spoke with the homeowner, he says the crash felt like lightning striking his home, and that his daughters were terrified.
