INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A sure sign that Christmas is right around the corner is now visible in downtown Indianapolis.

The bronze cherub sculpture is back atop a clock mounted on the outside of the former L.S. Ayres building downtown at Washington and Meridian streets.

The 36-inch tall cherub is said to stand guard over shoppers through the holidays. The tradition started back on the eve of thanksgiving in 1947.
