INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Kids at schools across Indianapolis are taking on a big responsibility.
Thursday afternoon, Nap Town Chickens placed a chicken coop at Village Montessori.
It's a project to encourage and educate children on chicken farming and the benefits that can come of it.
The coops will start out at nine schools in the city.
The organizer, Andrew Brake, says don't worry: These chickens won't be noisy.
“That is a great thing for the kids because it is teaching them where an egg comes from,” organizer Andrew Brake said.
The city doesn't require permits to raise chickens, Brake said, and there four at the school.
