Child struck by school bus on east side

IDNIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Dispatch says a high school student was hit by a school bus at 33rd and Denny Street on the city’s east side.

The accident happened at 6:44 a.m. Friday.

John Althardt, spokesperson for Indianapolis Public Schools said the IPS school bus was making a turn and bumped into a student.

Althardt said the contact did not cause any significant injury although the student was taken to Community East Hospital to be checked out as a precautionary measure.

The student is a sophomore at John Marshal High School.
