INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - According to a survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates, Citizens Gas has been rated the best customer service among Midwest gas utility companies. This is the second time Citizens has received the honor and the third time overall.
Utility companies are rated based on six factors: billing and payment, price, corporate citizenship, communication, customer service, and in-field service.
“Between managing the worst drought in decades, streamlining our customer service functions and celebrating our 125th anniversary in the community, 2012 has proved a busy year for Citizens,” said Carey Lykins, President and CEO of Citizens Energy Group. “During a season of significant change, our employees have remained focused on what Citizens values most-providing outstanding customer service,” said Lykins.
This rating comes just two weeks before the company rolls out its new customer service initiative.
Starting October 1, one utility bill will be sent for both water and gas. Furthermore, the utilities will be combined under one website.
According to the survey, overall satisfaction with natural gas utility companies has increased since 2011.
