INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Citizens Water says that, starting Friday, customers will begin to notice a different odor to their water.
Representatives say that the chlorine odor will begin fading from their tap water – free chlorine has been used in the water since February for disinfecting purposes.
The temporary change, in place of the normal use of chloramines, was done in part of the annual preventative maintenance task to assure the quality of drinking water in the system.
Citizens representatives say the maintenance process, which has been done for the past 20 years, is complete. System operations will return to normal, according to a release.
