INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Fire Department divers pulled a person from the White River Saturday night.

Crews found a man in the water near White River State Park and the Washington Street Bridge just after 9 p.m.

Investigators tell 24-Hour News 8 that it appears that 40-year-old Alcurtis L. Williams suffered some type of medical emergency causing him to lose consciousness and fell over the bridge and onto the rocks at a shallow point of the river.

Capitol Police Officer, Josh Norman was flagged down by citizens who directed him to Williams. Officer Norman called for help from the Indianapolis Fire Department personnel who rescued Williams.

Williams was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.
