IFD responds to old Central State fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Fire Department responded to a small basement fire at the old Central State campus just after 7 p.m. tonight.
Upon arrival, crews found light smoke showing. After investigating, heavier smoke was seen inside of the building.
Crews found a small fire in the basement of the building. After extinguishing the fire, IFD crews spent an extended amount of time clearing the building of heat and smoke, according to a release.
There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
