INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Firefighters were called to the 4600 block of Abington Drive Thursday morning in response to a fire at the Abington Apartments.

Crews arrived to the apartment fire on the city’s northwest side.

Firefighters used ground ladders to rescue three residents from the second and third floors of the apartment complex.

This is the second time Thursday morning fire crews have been called to this apartment building. The original fire was at the west end of the building while the second fire was on the opposite end in the first floor hallway, Jim Campbell with the Pike Township Fire Department says.

Crews were able to put out the flames quickly. No residents will be displaced and there were no reports of injuries.

There were 12 apartment units were affected by the fire.

The fire has been ruled suspicious and arson investigators are currently looking into the case.
