INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - More than 120 motorcyclists came together Saturday morning for the Warrior Torch Ride to benefit the Special Olympics and the David S. Moore Foundation.
Event organizers say riders began their ride at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and visited the Crown Hill Cemetery, where David S. Moore is buried.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer David S. Moore was shot and killed in January 2011.
In the cemetery is a Heroes of Public Safety section. Moore’s father greeted riders as they entered the area on Saturday.
Riders then made their way to the South Side Harley Davidson.
The second annual motorcycle ride took place Saturday morning followed by a bicycle ride Saturday afternoon.
The David Moore Warrior On Wheels Bike Ride moved through Broad Ripple and was followed by a barbecue from Buds Smoking BBQ.
The youth ride traveled on the Monon Trail to Canterbury Park while the senior ride rode through the Broad Ripple area toward Butler University and Crown Hill Cemetery.
