INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been charged with public intoxication and is on paid administrative leave from the department.
Ryan Radez, who’s been with the department since 2008, is facing the Class B misdemeanor charge because of an incident in Super Bowl Village, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Radez’s arrest and charge stem from an incident on Friday on Georgia Street. Court documents say a woman flagged down an Indiana State Police trooper to report a man bothering her family. The trooper approached the man and noticed he was highly intoxicated. At some points, ISP troopers said Radez was drunk enough that he couldn’t stand on his own.
While being arrested, Radez told other officers they would be in trouble if they didn’t let him go because of all the important people he knew. “My people are gonna (sic) handle this,” Radez told one officer, according to court documents.
Radez only faces the one public intoxication charge.
