INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Fire Department says a downed tree limb sparked a residence fire in the 50 block of Elbert Street.
Neighbors say they heard a loud crack followed by loud popping noises behind the home. The Indianapolis Fire Department says high winds brought the tree limb down on a power line, causing a surge of electricity to travel into the basement of the home.
When firefighters arrived on scene just before 3:30 p.m., they found heavy smoke and fire near the electrical box.
