Murder victim found in Brownsburg after man commits suicide in Indy

Suicide shooter sparks police investigation

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The downtown suicide victim has been identified as 58-year-old Dave Frisby. Police went to his home in Hendricks County  near Brownsburg where they found the body of his wife Mary Jane Frisby dead as a result of a homicide, according to a police press release.

Sources tell 24-Hour News 8 that police found a suicide note on the downtown victim.

Thursday afternoon gunshots went off in the heart of downtown near the intersection o f Meridian and Washington streets just a block south of Monument Circle.

According to a police report issued by officer David Drane,  the man Frisby fired several shots from an upper level of a parking garage and then shot himself in the head before falling about 30 feet to the ground. The man's body is believed to have landed at the south quadrant of the Meridian/Washington intersection.

Police report around 3:20 p.m. the man fired random shots before turning the gun on himself.

Workers inside state Republican headquarters tell 24-Hour News 8 they heard four shots fired outside the building and then a pause of about 30 seconds, and a fifth shot.

This is the second confirmed downtown suicide this week. A person jumped to their death near Illinois and Ohio streets on Tuesday.
In 2008 there were 155 suicide cases compared to 135 homicide cases.
